Ambitious Hammers Make Klopp Contact
There has been a big development in the West Ham managerial story today.

Claret And Hugh has revealed that the club have made contact with non other than Jürgen Klopp.

The Dortmund manager has announced that he will be leaving his present post at the end of the season and has naturally been the subject of a lot of speculation.

That speculation has connected him with the likes of Arsenal,Roma and Manchester City but today, West Ham have approached Klopp and made it clear they are interested.

Klopp himself has said he would be interested in taking on a project as his next job.

What bigger project than the Hammers’ move to the Olympic Stadium and growth from a mid-table club to European ambition?

Like Rafael Benitez, Klopp tops the polls for Hammers fans who have recently voted whom they would like as the new West Ham manager, but both of them are very optimistic targets.

The fact that contact has been made in itself shows a distinct hunger and ambition from the club and at the very least gives a glimmer of hope to supporters that they are looking in the right places when it comes to making the right choice.

"So nothing has changed in that respect. I think our performances - there has been one or two recent ones that haven't been great - overall have definitely improved."

Brady is employed by the club and has to be very careful with what she says in order not to put in danger contract talks which may be going on behind the scenes as we speak.

Martin Samuel doesn't have to be that careful.
My take on it is that Klopp knows we are interested, apparently West Ham have been in touch with his representatives. And he has kept his options open for the time being.

Which is wise as Klopp obviously wants to know if Man City, Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal or Real Madrid are going to make him an offer.
If they don't he might want to get back to our offer of a project...

Have we or haven't we asked him/been turned down by him?

Brady says no, Martin Samuels says yes.

I want to know whether to keep a glimmer of hope alight or not. I quite liked the idea of him talking on the challenge of us.

between them they work all this stuff in the media well I think in their own style, I wasn't a fan of them when they came onboard but they have done a good job this season from the signings at the start and stadium etc we no longer get played by Tottenham, they are slowly beating down all the bad media press that gets thrown at us, they don't have the financials to out muscle the top teams but we can close the gap, if we need to let Sam's contract expire and avoid any payout I'm sure they will manage that right, tricky for them getting a new manager onboard in the meantime, they need to come to an agreement where Sam will leave put Teddy in for the last few games

Joey5000 Karen Brady and the 2 Daves saved this club from bankruptcy so have more respect, they are doing a good job.

Doesn't mean they get a pass at all costs.

They also relegated the club in their first season, EPIC effort that.

West Ham deny Klopp move

West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady has hit out at "nonsense" suggestions that the club had approached Jurgen Klopp about replacing Sam Allardyce.

Premier League clubs were put on alert last week by the news that the highly-rated German will end a seven-year spell as Borussia Dortmund manager this summer.

Klopp was immediately installed as favourite to replace the under-fire Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City, although they would not be the only club looking to bring him in.

Reports emanated on Tuesday that West Ham had seen an audacious approach rebuffed by the Dortmund coach - talk vice-chairman Brady rejected out of hand.

"It is just nonsense," she told Sky Sports News. "Sam is the manager, we have talked to him about sitting down at the end of the season, which we will do.

"We have to see what he wants to do going forwards. That's how these things work.

"What sort of money does he want to invest in players? What positions does he want? Those are the conversation you always have, typically, at the end of the season and we make an arrangement going forwards. That's still our intention."

Few expect Allardyce to still be at the helm next season, with bookmakers making Sunderland a more likely destination than Upton Park.

The 60-year-old's contract expires in the summer and Brady insists no decision has yet been made on his future.

"I think we have, as a board, always made it clear that we sit down with Sam at the end of every season," she said.

"We've done that since he has joined us and we've done that when his contract has run out before.

"So nothing has changed in that respect. I think our performances - there has been one or two recent ones that haven't been great - overall have definitely improved.

"The team have done very well, we haven't been able to get the results we wanted but the performances have been good.

"Sam has had a good season, we've had a few recent disappointing results - he would be more disappointed than anyone.

"But, overall, the relationship with Sam is good. He has done what we have asked of him."

West Ham sit 10th in the standings after a bright start to the campaign petered out, with Sunday's 2-0 loss at Manchester City extending their poor recent run.

The Hammers have won only two league games since the turn of the year, with Brady recently saying Allardyce's side are "underachieving".

"I like him," she added. "I get on very well with him, we have a good relationship.

"He gets on with his job, he comes to me when he needs something.

"He is very collaborative, he has a very clear vision about what he wants to achieve and I have no complaints about working him at all."

West Ham deny move for Jurgen Klopp as Manchester City and Liverpool emerge as possible destinations

West Ham today insisted they have made no approach for Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp.

Reports this morning claimed the Upton Park club, who are expected to part company with Sam Allardyce at the end of the season, had made contact with Klopp but were told he was not interested in taking on the job.

The German announced last week he will leave Dortmund at the end of the season and has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League.

When asked if there had been any interest in the highly-rated Klopp, a West Ham source told Standard Sport: “Not true.”

Manchester City would be Klopp’s most likely destination in England although Liverpool could also be an option for the 47-year-old because Brendan Rodgers has failed to build on last season’s second-place finish.

Their last chance of silverware slipped away when they were beaten 2-1 in Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final by Aston Villa. The club are expected to offload as many as 10 players this summer but are expected to announce Jordan Henderson has agreed a new long-term deal.

Just had £20 at 11-1, the sides directly below them have a game in hand and their goal difference is pretty bad.

had a fiver on Newcastle too at 50-1
